I can confirm that we will be taking forward the items listed by Mr Chope.
We have re-opened our consideration of alternative sites and we will have to test these against the same issues raised by local people at Ashley Heath. We will need to talk to other communities and we need to do this in a measured way. This will take some time and we are not rushing into a decision. We have not dropped the option of using Ashley Heath Forest completely at this stage but if we move forward on any site we must be able to address the issues raised by local people.
We did offer the opportunity to Mr Chope of a visit to one of our other venues this summer to witness first hand how the events are planned and managed. He seemed keen to take up this offer subject to suitable dates. We would like to extend this offer to some members of your parish council if you felt it to be useful. If you are interested I will start to make some arrangements.
He has suggested that we consider a partnership approach that explores the possibility of venues on our leasehold sites. We will be taking this forward in the next few weeks.
